MEDICAL TREATMENTS Oncology The activity in the Oncology Institute includes treatments for various types of malignant tumors, medication, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, preventive treatments and medical observation for cancer patients, as well as patients who are at risk of appearance or spreading of cancer.   Innovative treatment for cancer Innovative supplementary treatment for cancer patients who have already undergone chemotherapy, surgery and/or radiation. Treatment is based on using lymphocytes (immune system cells) drawn from a donor, without the need for matching tissue classification. The cells undergo activation in a laboratory, in order to make them cancer killing cells. Thereafter, the cells are inserted into the patient's body – intravenously or through the blood vessels supplying the cancerous metastasis. These cells are already capable of identifying and attacking cancerous cells that have remained in the body after previous treatments. The Bone Marrow Day Treatment Center handles thousands of patients a year. The innovative treatment attracts patients from all across the world, offering new treatment possibilities in the field of cell medicine and anticancer vaccinations. Urology We engage in diagnosis and perform surgeries and further treatments of the kidneys, urinary system in children and adults, both male and female, as well as diseases of the male sexual organs and solving sexual dysfunction problems.   Orthopedics We offer comprehensive, high quality treatment for an extensive variety of muscular and bone related problems for all ages. The department has various units specializing in surgical and non-surgical treatments in an assortment of specific problems such as spinal conditions, tumors, trauma, pediatrics, palm, foot, shoulder, joint replacement, sports and diabetic foot care.   Endocrinology We diagnose and treat all fields of endocrinology, including thyroid gland diseases, diabetes, endocrinology, pituitary gland, adrenal gland and the reproductive system (male and female). Ear, Nose & Throat, Head and Neck surgeries We deal in conservative and modern diagnosis and treatment for all problems related to sound, hearing and the respiratory system. Gastroenterology We consult patients suffering from digestive diseases and problems. The unit performs diagnostic testing using video endoscopes, allowing an accurate examination of the upper digestive tracts, large intestine, gall bladder and pancreas. Hematology We offer many multi-disciplinary hematological diagnosis and treatment, including malignant blood diseases, leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, blood clotting diseases and hereditary blood diseases. Bone marrow transplants We treat patients with malignant blood diseases and hereditary diseases, which can be treated with bone marrow transplants, patients suffering from a deficient immune condition and bone marrow deficiency.   Pediatrics Treating acute and chronic pediatric diseases is performed by a skilled team of pediatricians, specializing in varied areas, as well as nurses, social workers, dieticians, psychologists, psychotherapists, teachers and more. Cardiothoracic Surgery We consult, treat and perform surgeries for the following diseases: coronary artery disease, bypass surgeries without and without a heart-lung machine, heart valve surgeries, including valve repair or replacement. Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery We deal with reconstructing birth defects, skin tumors, burns, injuries and accidents, amputation injuries and also offer an aesthetics center for plastic and aesthetic surgeries. Nephrology Medical activity includes diagnosis, treatment and preventive treatment in different areas: acute and chronic renal disease, including urinary infections, different types of hypertension. Dysregulations in the water balance and electrolytes, including edemas, polyuria (Excessive urination) and diabetes insipidus. Diseases connected to dysregulations in the calcium and phosphor balance, including bone metabolism diseases such as: rachitis, hyperthyroidism and hypoparathyroidism. Ophthalmology We offer consultation and high level medical and surgical services in all areas of ophthalmology, including: general ophthalmologic services and emergency eye care, cornea and external eye diseases, glaucoma, medical and surgical reticulum, children's ophthalmology, eye tumors, uveitis, neuroophthalmology and oculoplastics. The department also offers laboratory services concerning ophthalmologic pathology, visual functioning, eye ultrasounds, x-rays and imaging. Pulmonology We offer medical services for lung patients of all ages, including children, teenagers and adults. The Pulmonology Institute's team includes experts for lung diseases and adult asthma, and experts for children's lung diseases and asthma.
